Nature Inspired Designs Created With Paintings

For today's post I will be discussing the nature inspired paintings I have done that are featured on various products in my shop. To start one of my favorite insects is the dragonfly. I love the way they fly and maneuver. I find them to be fascinating. I decided to create some nature inspired designs based on dragonflies. For any dragonfly fan you will find some really cool items available such as my dragonfly T-shirts.

Green Frog Nature Inspired Design

I also like to create whimsical type items. One of my nature inspired designs features a green frog with a blue dragonfly nearby. It's a nice summer image. And while we talk about animals I also have a realistic painting of a squirrel holding an acorn with a caption that says "I'm nuts about you." This is not only a great way to show someone how you feel about them but it's also funny! You will find this nature inspired designs on various different products as well.

There also paintings of other aspects of nature inspired designs. You will find hand-painted pine cones, green leaves, as well as orange and red leaves for the colors of fall. And for the fan of the color purple I have a whole line of purple leaves featured on various products.

Abstract Designs At MikeMBurkeDesigns Zazzle Shop

I must admit this is a difficult topic to discuss. When it comes to abstract designs there are literally thousands of options. I can take one image and bring it into Photoshop and turn that one image into hundreds! I can change the color, the style, and everything about it. As it turned out I created a ton of new designs for my Zazzle Shop. I will do my best to talk about some of them here.

My Abstract Designs Born From Another Project

It early 2013 I embarked on a huge photographic project. I went through two decades of photographs that I had taken ever since I was a child. I found some that were just not good. They were either out of focus or too blurry. I decided to take these images and turn them into abstract designs for my Zazzle shop. Many of the images you will see in my shop are actually real landscape scenes that had been manipulated in ways to create beautiful abstract designs. Most likely you will not be able to guess what they actually are.

Huge Variety Of Abstract Designs Available

When you go through my Zazzle shop you are going to see a huge variety of abstract designs. I know that a lot of people shop based on colors. So I made sure to have an array of colors to choose from. These are all abstract designs that are very unique. These are great for themes you may have in your home or office. Perhaps you like interesting art but you don't have the wall space to display them. Well you can solve that problem by getting a mug with a wonderful abstract design upon it or even a notebook. If they feature the right message they can inspire you and always remind you to continue following down the path that you have set forth. Dream Big Motivational Poster

Lets go over a few that are available. My latest poster features a praying mantis on a leaf that was preparing to take a leap. Truth be told this particular praying mantis was afraid to jump! I did not know insects had emotions however I watched him for quite a while and he seemed to not want to take that leap and hence the title of this poster “˜Take The Leap.” Now one of my personal favorite posters features a large bullfrog looking out into the distance. The subject of this poster is “Dream Big, Go Far.”

The Road Less Traveled Is The Road Less Crowded

Another one of my favorite posters is the take on a famous quote. I changed it up a bit and it makes total sense. This poster features a dirt road going into a forest and the subject line is “The Road less traveled is the road less crowded.” Think about it. Instead of doing what everybody else is doing, do your own thing.

There are many motivational posters to choose from including a beautiful image of a lake with a bright blue sky and white fluffy clouds. Kitchen Products At MikeMBurkeDesigns Zazzle Shop

Growing up my mother liked to have themes for her kitchen products. She still does it to this day. Every once in a while she would change her kitchen collection to a new design. Typically this lasted for about five years and then she would move onto a new design. I realized when visiting friends and family that this was something that was common. When designing your own kitchen people like to have everything match and they like to have a theme. When creating my Zazzle shop I made sure to dedicate a special section just for the kitchen.

Mantis Has Arrived! Praying Mantis Photographs On Zazzle Products

Yes it is true, Mantis has arrived! I'm excited to introduce you to a series of products that feature fascinating praying mantis photographs . I got to know this little guy pretty well over the summer and photographed him. In return he gave me some wonderful images that are now featured on various products in my Zazzle shop.

A Praying Mantis Introduces Itself To Me

One summer afternoon I was sitting in my office working when I noticed something hit the window screen. As it turned out it was a brown praying mantis. I quickly grabbed my camera and went outside to photograph it. For the next couple of weeks I saw this praying mantis every single day. It had made itself comfortable in a small bush outside my window. I managed to capture some terrific praying mantis photographs. I was also experimenting with macro photography and got a close-up of his space alien-like head. You will find this image in my shop with the caption "What are you looking at?"

Another fantastic image is one where he is looking up while hanging from a leave. The caption for this particular praying mantis photograph simply says "I am Mantis."

Amazing Praying Mantis Photographs On Products

You'll find these wonderful praying mantis photographs on cool products such as posters, mugs , and apparel. These products are perfect for any fan of nature and especially fans of the praying mantis. Also available is a motivational poster with this praying mantis photograph where he seems to be thinking about whether or not he wants to jump from one branch to another. The caption says "Take The Leap." It is a metaphor for taking chances. While observing this praying mantis, it seemed to be fearful to jump onto the branch. Now I don't know if this is true or not I can only go by what I observed.

I opened my Zazzle Shop, MikeMBurkeDesigns, in the late fall of 2012. Since then I have created hundreds and hundreds of items. Each one features my own designs. The designs I create are a mix between hand-painted items and photographs. I also recently got into abstract photography which is done in Photoshop. When I was growing up my mother would decorate the entire house and that included the kitchen. She would use Christmas kitchen items such as plates and glasses. It helped add to the festive and warm feeling of the holiday season. When creating my shop and the designs that are within I always keep those memories in mind. Christmas Wonderland At Zazzle - Christmas Wrapping Paper

I continue my series about my Christmas Wonderland department in my Zazzle shop. Today I'm going to introduce you to my Christmas wrapping paper series. This is a brand-new addition to my shop and one that I'm really excited about! When wrapping presents it is the presentation that matters. When choosing the correct paper you look for something that's going to be appealing and really grab the attention of those were going to receive that gift. Sometimes the paper itself can really entice the recipient. You want them to not take notice of your gift and not take their eyes of it. Of course that could go downhill really quickly if what's inside is not as nice!

Christmas Wrapping Paper Designs That Work

When creating Christmas wrapping paper for my Christmas Wonderland department I had to make sure that the design worked. As you know the images and the wrapping paper are repeat images. It's the same design over and over again . If it is not done correctly it will not looked good. As it turned out the designs I chose worked beautifully!

One of the most important aspects of the design is color. For example one particular style of Christmas wrapping paper is all white with images of green Holly and read berries. This creates the beautiful colors of Christmas in a wonderful way. One of my personal favorites is a close-up photograph of a branch on a Christmas tree with the lights. The image is dark with just enough blue coming through. It's a very striking wrapping paper. Another personal favorite is the poinsettia wrapping paper. It is absolutely gorgeous.

So the options I have available has to do with the message inside. For those who like to write their own message you can find cards that have a blank slate inside. My Personal Favorite Of The Christmas Cards At Zazzle

There are many beautiful Christmas scenes available on these Christmas cards at Zazzle and one of my personal favorites is an image of my mother's Christmas cookies! When I was a kid she would stay up for hours on end baking tray after tray of Christmas cookies. We love these cookies. So a few years ago I made sure to bring my camera and snap a picture of one of her trays. Now a tradition that my family has enjoyed for years can be seen by many as a wonderful Christmas card. The message on the card says "Celebrate Tradition."

Another one of my favorite Christmas cards in my shop is one that is very simple. It's a photograph of a Park bench buried in snow. In this continuing series about the fantastic products in my Christmas Wonderland department in my Zazzle shop, we talk about Christmas mugs, Steins, travel mugs, and water bottles. There are so many wonderful gift options when it comes to these perfect items. It’s a universal gift as well. You can give it to loved ones, friends, and even those you work with.

One of the things I love about Christmas mugs and Steins is the fact that you can do various different options with them. For example you can fill them up with Hershey kisses or other sorts of wonderful candies. Perhaps load them up with candy canes as a wonderful Christmas display. If you’re a teacher you can fill them up with pencils and pens for your students. Or for a child you can fill them up with wonderful little toys! Christmas Wonderland At Zazzle - Christmas Ornaments

This post is going to be the first in a series covering Christmas Wonderland at my Zazzle shop. Today I'm going to focus on Christmas ornaments at Zazzle. I have a huge array of designs available on various ornaments and I'm going to discuss a few here.

Christmas Ornaments At Zazzle

Christmas ornaments are not just objects we place on our Christmas tree every year. Many times they have a story. Perhaps the designs on some of them represent something we like or represents a bit of who we are. Perhaps there is story behind that ornament. In my family my mother gave us a new ornament every single year. To this day she continues that tradition. Each of those ornaments tells the story of that particular Christmas.

In creating Christmas ornaments at Zazzle I had those thoughts in mind. I wanted beautiful ornaments that can be given as gifts, become part of your life story, or represent a part of you as it is displayed on your Christmas tree every year.
 

Christmas Ornaments Design At Zazzle

Some of the designs available in my shop include abstract art, Christmas themed images, and humor as well. There are metal ornaments with red ribbons, some shaped like T-shirts, there are heart-shaped, and some shaped as stars. You will find round and square . You will find bright and colorful and some that are whimsical. The abstract designed ornaments are one of a kind. You will not find these designs anywhere else outside of my shop.

In creating the Christmas ornaments at Zazzle I used images that remind me of Christmas. My personal favorite is a painting I did many years ago of a small house on Christmas Eve. Smoke escapes through the chimney from the fire inside while the warm glow of the lights can be seen through the windows. If you look a little closer you can see a family inside celebrating. My most recent creation was an experiment that worked out better than I thought. Using a real photograph I was able to create an image that looks as if Santa Claus is flying across the sky. It is very realistic.

Zazzle Shop - Just A Quick Update

I made another sale this week. It's not big money just yet but things are growing. Soon I will create a post showing people what I do in order to reach customers. Owning a Zazzle shop can be tricky but it's a great feeling when you open your inbox and see "You made another Zazzle Sale!"

MikeMBurkeDesigns Zazzle Shop

I am very excited to introduce you to my Zazzle shop. I started it at the end of 2012. My shop features various products such as T-shirts, mugs, hats, dinner plates, buttons, greeting cards, etc. that features my art and photography. These are really great items.

Originally, before staring MikeMBurkeDesigns at Zazzle I had a CafePress shop. These two sites basically do the same thing. They do feature some different products but the big difference is their popularity. When I was selling on CafePress I could not make a sale. My shop was five years old or so and yet no sales. After joining Zazzle I began to actually see sales shortly thereafter and the traffic has been increasing! I also feel that Zazzle makes it much easier to create your products.

My main purpose in creating the job was to be able to do something cool with my art and photography. I love the idea of having mugs or T-shirts with my work on it. I also wanted to create a site that would do the work for me. By that I mean, I can create a new coffee mug today and years from now be making income off that very mug. This store is my retirement plan! It is my hope to eventually have regular income from this shop while I work on other things.




I have created this blog to talk about my shop and the products. Each post will feature a different item.
Owning a Zazzle shop is a very difficult challenge. There are thousands and thousands of items on the site that I am competing against. It become very easy for a shop owner to get buried and unseen. This blog will be my way of bringing more awareness to my shop and I ask for your support.
